Default Two birds, three images

The first one I'm thinking/hoping for merlin as it seems smaller and more orangey than a kestrel. The second and third could be peregrin. Any help most welcome. Thanx.

Hi Actor,

I'm sure one of the more accomplished birders will be along to help you with these, but I think that the 2nd one is a Peregrine. When were this taken and where were you?

1ST Image is a Female Merlin.

2nd and 3rd Images are the same bird I take it?? If so then the 2nd Image is a Male Merlin. Note- Face mask pattern, blue/slate back, size/bulk compared to fence top.

Thanx, guys.

Mike; The second and third pictures are the same bird. I was some distance away from both hence the very poor photos. It was only afterwards that I realised I wasn't shooting in RAW.

Forgot to add that this is a lifer for me.

Great stuff Martyn. I'd write that first pic down as a Kestrel so I must be more vigilant.
