Default Wader for id....!

This is a really bad digiscoped pic.........hopefully enough for id, was a bird i have never seen before....!It was not a redshank i assure you............they were all over the place..!Peace.!

It's a juvenile Ruff, you can just make out the darker brown scalloping on the back and wings and the buffish background colour is also distinctive of this species

Thanx john..was hoping for ruff.........lifer for me!I id it as ruff using my guide whilst there.Was on the bank that you were at i think when you payed a visit to longton marsh, across to the sewage works......!what was more surprising was the amount of curlews.......must have easily been 100+ some even looked like whimbrel..........but the ruff will do for today...!
