Default Bird id please

Hi all my son took me to kelso today..dark grey skies and pouring down and I mean pouring down...so anyway as I didn't have a waterproof cover for my camera we sat in the car in a carpark near to the riverside, when I spotted this big boy about the size of a heron..it was too far away to get a decent picture with my 70-300mm lens so sorry about the quality of the pics...and me thinks the little fellow is a pied wagtail?

It's a Cormorant - the pale front is typical for young birds. And yes, the bottom one is indeed a Pied Wagtail.
