Default Godwit?

I was reliably informed in the hide that these are Black Tailed Godwit. They were a 1/4 of a mile away so I couldn't tell and this is obviously a heafty crop.

Any comments anyone?

Thanks Paul, the guys in the hide with scopes said they were. No way they would be bar tailed around here.

Yes Judith, had a good 3 mile walk followed by an hour in the hide at Wilstone. Met Lee Evans (not the comedian).

Yes, they appear to be Black-tailed Godwits (not Black Tailed Godwits which would be black godwits with tails not godwits with black tails - sorry, I know I'm a pedant...) - assuming you mean the godwits and not the Lapwings and Black-headed Gulls!

I do have a nice Nikon scope, but rarely take it with me as I have the camera, especially today as I went on a good walk. I will take it with me next time I am at that particular hide though as some of the main sand banks are 2-400 metres away.
