Is this a Tufted Duck? Is the nose band a moulting or eclipse issue?

Female Tufted Duck. Many do have white face masks.

Thanks Mike, at least I got the type right. Never seen that before or on google. Is it due to a little x breeding issue?

No, about 5% gain a white mask of various size and thus many are ID'd wrongly as scaup. There has been one recently on this forum and one in my album,
