Default Meadow Pipits?

Two different birds, are they both Meadow Pipits?

I'm going to say yes for the first one but hold fire on the second for someone qualified to come along.

I think they both are, and I'm more confident on the second one!

Why Stuart? I didn't like the colour or the chest markings. Cant see the legs or feet.

I think the yellow lower beak of the second one points towards Meadow Pipit

The colour and the markings are ok for me, but the bill seals it.

Its the bill that makes me unsure on the first one, too. I think its the angle, perhaps.

Everyone is correct - these are both Meadow Pipits.

Meadow Pipits can be very variable, with heavy or light streaking, cold grey or warm brown upperparts, and buff/yellow toned or white underparts.

I think that the bill only looks odd in the first photo because it is open, and movement has caused some blur.
