Default What kind of 'white bird' is this, please?

Hiya,

I live in Dover and today I took a photo of this bird paddling in the River Dour:


I'm ok at telling seagulls from pigeons, but that's pretty close to the limits of my ornithological knowledge. Can anyone tell me what it is, please?

This is an adult (winter) Black-headed Gull. Doesn't look to well!
