Default ID Please

I took this pick in my garden (Dorest coast) in September. The bird was large, about 25-30cm high with a stout bill and large feet.

Thankyou all for your help. We have a large area of open water nearby which is home to quite a few moorhen families but I had never noticed an adolescent before. Thanks
