Super shots Ian, I've only seen the common Tern but I love watching them dive in the water for fish.

Thanks for your kind comments Ruth, Debsie and Judith.

Managed some reasonable flight shots yesterday, but despite the hovering the terns weren't diving.

Thanks Judith. It helped that they were flying into a stiff breeze, they hung there hovering longer than usual.

You're right, I love watching terns, both flying and fishing, but also when they congregate on the ground, they are so noisy. I've grown quite attached to the group I see regularly out here.
