Default Madagascar pochard.

So sad to read that the chicks are dying as they cannot feed from the bottom of the lake as it is too deep for them.

Edit: Good to see that Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust are helping with the breeding programme and the monitoring. There Zoo on Jersey is well worth a visit, they do some really good conservation work.

Sad news indeed.......goodness knows what our Grandchildren's children will have left of the natural world.....very depressing to even think about!
