Default Dodgy bird song.

I don't know if anyone else has ever noticed. On more than one occasion, I have been watching an American film, or a drama, on TV. Or even a movie. And there! In the middle of the desert, somewhere. The unmistakeable song of a Willow Warbler or even a Chiffchaff. And I will never forget a particular episode of CSI Miami. The good guys were raiding a large house. And while they did their heroic deeds. A chaffinch was going at full volume, in the garden.
So I am wondering. Is there perhaps, a pan oceanic version of these species? Or did someone really mess up, on their post production sound effects?

I've noticed that before in some US made films, in Dances with Wolves a Willow Warbler can be heard singing in background on a couple of scenes, for some reason they are used fairly frequently as a background noise

cheers, John

It's a spammer. Looks like he got banned quickly. They troll all sorts of forums posting llinks. I moderate a forum (not related to birds) and I have to take out a couple every day. Indian IP address, broken English post and a link to a website. They get paid for click thru's.

Oh right. Should have picked up on that.

I think it strange for American shows to have British bird calls used. They must have similar songs/chirps to the British.
Watching NCIS one night and as they stood on the beach shore, a dolphin popped up and swam on in the background. Just a brief glimpse but I thought, that can't be real. But why fake it? I know dolphins in Florida and the likes do come pretty close to shore at times.

They also seem to go for old threads for some reason. This was before my time. I am now going to listen all the time for bird calls on TV. Doh!

Glad you are a fan of NCIS, my favourite at the mo.
