Default Fish ID please

Was down on the iron ore jetty today and saw several of these fish - any ideas what they are?
They varied from about 10 - 24'' long

Thanks for the link, Alan! Interesting reading! I wonder if the Garfish will ever be on menus? Have you ever tried Garfish?

Great shot Ian!
I once caught a Garfish when out Mackerel fishing in a boat off the Devon coast......it was rather quickly taken off me as they can bite apparently............everyone else was catching Mackerel on their feathers.......typical of me to do it wrong!!! lol

Thanks Clive and Alan, and thanks for the link - interesting. There are plenty of them around here, sometimes skimming across the surface of the water.

Garfish are very nice to eat. A lot of people are put-off by their green bones though.
