Basic Birding Guide Books - 2006/04/18 22:54 I'm looking for a good British bird indefication book and have seen the offerings at http://www.birding.uk.com/links/Books-Beginners-Guides.html but wasn't sure which one to go for. Has anyone got any feedback or comments?

You get a good birdwatching beginners book and a really useful map which shows over 400 birding sites in UK and Ireland. It includes RSPB reserves, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and local Wildlife Trusts sites - plenty of options for beginners and experienced alike.

The book is good too with clear bird illustrations and a useful confusion pages comparing and showing the differences between often confuesd birds.

Re:Basic Birding Guide Books - 2007/01/21 16:57 You should try The "British Birds" book, its good because it is interactive, it allowes you to put notes, pictures and stickers in it to help you remember the bird type.
Its also good because it conains questions to help you identify the bird faster and a quick identification poster.

You can pick it up for about £10 but i manged to get it on offer for £5
