Beginners Bird Books - 2005/12/15 06:16 I'm looking for a good British bird indefication book and have seen the offerings at http://www.birding.uk.com/links/Books-Beginners-Guides.html but wasn't sure which one to go for. Has anyone got any feedback or comments?

Re:Beginners Bird Books - 2005/12/15 06:16 Bill Oddie's Birding Pack is my choice http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1843308517/birdingukcom-21

You get a good birdwatching beginners book and a really useful map which shows over 400 birding sites in UK and Ireland. It includes RSPB reserves, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and local Wildlife Trusts sites - plenty of options for beginners and experienced alike.

The book is good too with clear bird illustrations and a useful confusion pages comparing and showing the differences between often confuesd birds.
