Tamron 20 - 60x scope - 2007/09/16 04:51 My father is interest in purchasing a spotting scope and has been offered one by a friend. His problem is he(or myself, his son) does not know anything about the subject and does not want to be done. The model is a Tamron model 05T with with details as follows -

Magnification 20x-60x variable zoom

Objective aperture 65mm

Exit pupil diameter 3.25mm-1.08mm

Eye relief distance 18mm

Resolution at centre 20x - 3.5" 60x - 2.6"

Does anybody have any idea how old this model may be and how much it may have cost new?

He would also like to attach a Canon digital SLR. Does anyone know where he would find an attachment for it.

Many thanks in antiipation

Re:Tamron 20 - 60x scope - 2007/09/24 18:27 I've had a look around for information on the Tamron Scope but have'nt found much.

I believe the Tamron 05T is circa 1990.

Also some detail...

Tamron catadioptric Zoom spotting scope

* Model 05T
* 70mm spotting scope 20X~60X
* Very good optics
* Comes in Original Leather Box.

Comments such as "I was amazed how powerful these things are, very clear and sharp." Although the comment came from someone who was selling it, so take it at face value.

I'll see if I can find some information about attaching a Canon digital SLR.

Re:Tamron 20 - 60x scope - 2007/10/06 05:03 I've seen another Tamron 20-60x scope in the local newpaper.

Would you mind letting me know if it's any good?

I wouldn't mind getting a second scope for a reasonable price.
