colorful little bird at Stonehenge - 2008/03/14 12:45 yesterday at Stonehenge I saw a little colorful bird- maybe sparrow size- hopping among the starlings. wasn't quick enough to get a photo and can't ID it from birdbook. Any suggestions...

From the description it could be anything, could you be a bit more specific with the colours and where the colours were located on the bird

Re:colorful little bird at Stonehenge - 2008/03/15 04:49 Sorry, I guess I assumed it would be easier.... a smallish sparrow size, greenish with browns. I have been trying to flip through bird books and can't come across anything that looks familiar. In the area of stonehenge that day we only saw starlings and this pretty little one. I wasn't quick enough with my camera.
any hints are appreciated....

Probably a Greenfinch, that is certainly the most likely
