Hogganfield Loch - 2007/11/16 02:34
Hogganfield Loch (Hogganfield Park), Glasgow is a great place to watch birds, most of the wildfowl can be observed at close quarters. Whooper Swans, Goosander, Goldeneye, Tufted Duck, Pochard, Little Grebe and Great Crested Grebe can all be seen without getting out of your car. The birds come in very close here (I have hand fed wild Whooper Swans here), this means the loch is great for photographing wildfowl. It is also very suitable for wheelchair users as there is a good path all the way round the loch. The waterbirds are used to people and will rush towards you at the slightest hint of bread. The park has a good species list despite it's proximity to Glasgow City Centre, if you are ever in the area it's definately worth a visit.
the images below were all taken from the car park
